Position Overview

Providence St. Joseph Health is seeking 2 Board-Certified OB/GYN Physicians for a locum tenens, call-only opportunity in a busy, high-acuity practice in Richland, WA. This is an in-house 24-hour call position, requiring providers to cover 5–8 shifts per month on an ongoing basis.

Practice Details

Setting: Inpatient | In-house call only
Patient Volume: ~25 patients per shift
Support Staff: 5 Midwives + APP team support
EMR: Epic
Trauma Level: II
High-acuity environment with emergent OB/GYN cases from ED

- Coverage Type: Call Only (24-hour in-house shifts)
- Shifts: 5–8 per month
- Credentialing: ~90 days (No temporary privileges)
- Compensation: Hourly (no OT unless exceeding scheduled shift)

Skills

Responsibilities

Manage low- and high-risk pregnancies
Perform routine and complicated deliveries (vaginal, C-section, breech, VBACs, multiple births)
Conduct OB ultrasounds (Level I & II) and fetal monitoring interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
Handle emergent surgical cases, including:
- Ectopic pregnancy
- Hysterectomy
- D&C, hysteroscopy
- Ovarian cystectomy
- Exploratory laparotomy
- Post-operative complications
Perform minor and major gynecologic procedures
