Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Palliative Care Physician to join our interdisciplinary care team. This role focuses on improving quality of life for patients with serious, chronic, or life-limiting illnesses through expert symptom management, goals-of-care discussions, and collaborative care planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient and/or outpatient palliative care consultations
  • Manage complex symptoms including pain, dyspnea, nausea, anxiety, and depression
  • Lead advance care planning and goals-of-care discussions with patients and families
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, social work, chaplaincy, and case management
  • Support patients across the continuum of care, including serious illness and end-of-life care
  • Educate patients, families, and staff on palliative care principles
  • Document care plans clearly and in compliance with regulatory standards

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Palliative Care (or eligibility through primary specialty)
  • Active or eligible medical license in the practicing state
  • Strong communication skills with a patient-centered approach
  • Commitment to compassionate, high-quality care

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in inpatient consultative palliative care and/or outpatient clinics
  • Background in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Oncology
  • Hospice and palliative medicine fellowship training (preferred but not required depending on eligibility)
